It is often the case that healers are artists and artists are healers. What they share is sensitivity and the need to express it.
I am both a healer and an artist and love, in its many forms, is what I express.
Love of the home, the earth and one another motivates me spiritually and creatively. It is the love that flows outwards that gives meaning to Life.
I believe in respect, kindness, generosity and care. I believe in compassion, empathy and in the strength of non-judgement.
I believe in the importance of the mother’s role in society. I believe in the fragility of our hearts and psyches, and I believe in nourishing them.
I believe in energy. I believe in the Soul. I believe in the spirit world, our spiritual connection to one another and our primeval connection to the earth. I believe passionately in our struggle to reclaim them.
I believe in man’s ancient and primordial instinct to express love through affection, healing, story telling, painting and music, and I believe these expressions are necessary to our well-being. All life communicates – and denial of it leads only to dis-ease.
Being a “good” artist, musician or poet is not important. It matters not a jot if we are good or bad. What matters, according to Csikszentmihalyi is that “we are happiest when we are in a state of flow, and completely involved in an activity for its own sake. The ego falls away. Time flies. Every action thought and movement follows inevitably from the previous one. In being involved in creativity we feel we are living more fully than during the rest of life” .
